GRADUATION INFO

Dear Triton Senior Families,

I hope this email finds you well.  I’m reaching out regarding our graduation ceremony for the class of 2021.  Our activities directors, in collaboration with site and District administration, continue to plan graduation with guidance from county and state health agencies. We have been planning for multiple options for our graduation ceremony on June 3, 2021, ensuring we do everything we can to offer as close to a traditional graduation ceremony as possible.  As it stands, recent health and safety guidelines reflect more options for us to celebrate the class of 2021 with all the pomp and circumstance our students deserve.

Although we will not be able to host a full traditional graduation, with current guidelines we will be able to offer in-person ceremonies in our stadiums with safety modifications. Planning has begun for multiple smaller ceremonies with limited audiences (two guests per graduate), facemasks, and physical distancing that meet state and county guidelines.  As our planning continues, we will collaborate on all details and adjustments that need to be made to ensure the health and safety of our students, staff and parents. We will provide you with updates as they become available.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we continue planning for this important and memorable event.

Sincerely,

Chris Carter

Atentamente,

COMMONLY ASKED GRADUATION QUESTIONS!

Where do me and my parents go when we arrive to Graduation?

Parents/guests will report to the stadium and find their seats.  All seating is general seating other than the handicap seating section.

Graduates will report to the "K" Building no later than 1:15 pm for the 1:45 pm ceremony and 3:45 pm for the 4:15 pm ceremony.

WHAT CAN WE NOT BRING TO GRADUATION?

Umbrellas, balloons, coolers, and air horns or other loud noise makers are not allowed in the stadium. Umbrellas/balloons can obstruct views, coolers are unnecessary, and air horns are a safety issue.

WHEN DO WE RECEIVE OUR 4 GRADUATION TICKETS, OUR 1 PARKING PASS, AND CAPS & GOWNS?

Cap and gown pickup along with graduation ticket pickup is June 2nd on the Stadium Practice Field from 10-11 am.  Make sure all debts are clear and chromebooks returned if you borrowed one.  Anyone owing debts will not receive their gown/tickets.

CAN I ARRIVE EARLY AND SAVE SEATS OR WAIT IN LINE?

No, the stadium is shutdown until the parking lot opens 1 hour prior to the start of the ceremony. Any blankets/chairs that make it into the stadium prior will be swept.

WE HAVE A PERSON WITH DISABILITIES AND NEED ACCESSIBLE PARKING, DOES THAT COUNT AS MY 1 PARKING PASS?

Yes, every graduate receives 1 parking pass to park on campus.  Accessible parking is limited and on a first come first serve basis.

WILL THERE BE ACCESSIBLE SEATING FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AT THE EVENT?

Yes, there will be seating for persons with disabilities and their families on the track.

CAN MY GRADUATE WEAR LEIS AND OTHER SORTS OF REGALIA DURING THE CEREMONY?

Only school provided/approved regalia may be worn during the ceremony.  This regalia is distributed during senior awards and consists of cords, stoles, and medals that are directly related to and approved by SCHS. Leis can be given to graduates after the ceremony and look great in pictures!

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR UNDER MY GOWN AND ON MY FEET?

Clothes and shoes!  After graduation there will be pictures taken by family/friends.  Think about what you want to wear under your gown that will make your family happy during pictures.  This is a dignified ceremony and it is suggested that graduates wear dresses and dress clothes.  Absolutely no heels on the turf!  The heels will not only poke holes in the turf, but they will also get stuck and you may fall.  Flats or wedges please.

WILL THERE BE A PHOTOGRAPHER TAKING PICTURES OF GRADUATES RECEIVING THEIR DIPLOMAS?

Yes!  South Coast Photographic will be taking a still shot of each graduate holding the diploma. Click the image below to view the flyer.

Will there be a video of the graduation ceremony?

Yes!  We will be live streaming both ceremonies.  A link for the live stream will be on the front page of our website on graduation day.

WILL WE BE ABLE TO COME ONTO THE FIELD AND TAKE PICTURES AFTER THE CEREMONY?

Unfortunately no. The graduates will do a recession out of the stadium at the end of the ceremony and pick up their diplomas.  The stadium will not be available after the ceremony.
